With the helpful research of my dear sister, Diane Allison Tilly; cousin, Bob Burditt; Billy Sue (Scott) Thompson, and many other family members (some far removed) I have compiled the genealogy for four primary surnames to which I am related - Allison / Scott and Moss / Bridges. These family lines have had their roots in Texas since around 1900. The ALLISON line came primarily from North Carolina and Tennessee to North Central Texas (Grayson and Fannin Counties). The SCOTT line came primarily from Kentucky to North Central Texas (Grayson and Fannin Counties). The MOSS line came primarily from Tennessee and Arkansas to Central Texas (Bell County). Thomas Jefferson Moss, Sr., my great-grandfather, served in Company A, 11th Tennessee Regiment of the Confederate Army. The BRIDGES line came primarily from Alabama to East Texas (Rusk County) and Central Texas (Bell County).
